harry potter and the deathly hallows

so on friday i met cookie to watch the new harry potter movie. wore my new shoes out even though it was raining; i carefully sidestepped all the puddles in my way. collected the tickets we booked, and we headed to this eatery that both gerry and cookie recommended. i think my only real agenda for the holidays is to eat -.-

it's located at prinsep street, in one of the shophouses opposite pomo, beside some pubs. that place reminds me of the times when the jc class would go to the Minds there for class gatherings.

patience. it didn't feel like it took very long though.

tall glass of nutella milkshake that cookie strongly recommended. it's thick, and very nutella. i also like the cookie crumbs mixed into it.

chocolate pancakes with lemon zest. i really loved the chocolate pancakes! the mild lemony taste was refreshing, and balanced out the sweetness of the pancakes and vanilla ice cream.

we ordered savoury pancakes too. the one with smoked salmon. but we had to eat the chocolate pancakes first, because the ice cream would have melted otherwise.

i love fish, and smoked salmon is definitely a fav. but even i found this a little too salty? although it became much better after i dipped it into the sour cream sauce that came with it. and i loved the butter with garlic. the plain pancakes were nice too. i think i can just eat plain pancakes with garlic butter. oh with the maple syrup too. i thought garlic butter with syrup would be odd, but it's actually a good combi.

and i met steph! happy coincidence ♥ and right before that at ps i met ruobs. most days i go about not meeting anyone, and in a single day i meet two (and a senior from school)

(:

overall, quite a good place to eat. the servers are friendly, and the price is also reasonable. students get a 10% discount if you show your student card when paying! portions are huge (imo) so it's better to share if you want to try different pancakes. we were stuffed and the short walk back to ps to catch our movie didn't help much.

the movie was not bad i guess. maybe it's because i've forgotten the book. but i always think the movie versions are never as good as books. maybe i'll read the book again sometime this break. there were some awkward harry/hermione moments, and ron was looking rather bad (is it on purpose?). some awesome scenery there though. and i just cried when dobby died it was so sad.

more food posts coming up! seems like that's all i've been doing. i need to exercise!
