sunday morning i was rushing for my first pre-advanced japanese class. was running late, so i was hurriedly walking out to the bus stop. after crossing the zebra crossing to the traffic light, the bus zoomed by me. if i had missed the bus i'd have been late for class in town, definitely. it was a red light but the coast was clear so i ran across the road and started my 100m sprint towards the bus stop. by then everyone had boarded, and the bus was about to go off. but an elderly uncle out for his morning exercise saw me sprinting as fast as i could to catch the bus, so he flagged the bus and held his hand out until i reached. i shouted "thank you uncle!" and he gave a friendly smile and nodded at me. i thanked the bus driver and he smiled at me too. fyi, i very rarely run for buses
happy
met jen after jap class to go view nafa's grad show together. as we were walking out of bugis junction, we found a little boy standing alone outside some jewellery shops, and he was crying very pitifully. so we asked him what happened, and whether he lost his mummy and after crying some more he finally nodded. he was holding a cube puzzle from some hotel, so we gathered he was a tourist. the jewellery shop assistants were watching us try to console the kid and help him out, and finally one guy told us where the customer service counter was. (i wonder why none of them standing there idly with flyers in hand helped the poor kid out in the first place) so we brought him up to the second level, and all the way he held my hand tightly. and we left him sitting there behind the counter as the counter staff made an announcement over the PA system of the shopping mall. by the time we finished the exhibitions and came back to check the customer service counter he was gone, so hopefully he found his mum.
sad
i came out of the shower just now to hear mum exclaiming over something in the living room, and i knew it had to be some bug or other (again). my family has a tendency to create a hooha over the occasional insect invasion. and i was right. apparently some bee flew in and unwittingly flung itself at the spinning ceiling fan like it was on a suicide mission, and the force of the fan caused it to fly straight at my mum, who of course scrambled out of the way in panic. bro eventually trapped the injured bee in a clear cup, and as we sprawled on the floor observing it, we realized that it had been decapitated T_T the head with its feelers was lying several inches away from its body. but the body and legs were still moving, and it looked like it was contorted in pain. i was so sorry for it i wanted to cry ):
