FIRST DAY OF WORK.

or rather, internship.

MORNING TRAFFIC IS MY WORST NIGHTMARE OMG. i swear i nearly suffocated on the train from serangoon to clarke quay. i am so going to get a car asap when i start working. traffic jams and all on the expressways, i know, but at least i'm stuck in the comfort of my own car, no? and i won't have to get squashed in the mrt like canned sardines. doesn't help that i'm not very tall... i'm so environmentally unfriendly, i know. maybe i should cycle to work instead. start at like, 6am or something and i'll reach by 9 and shower in the office? oh wait maybe at 6am i'll still be in the office from the previous day. yay. okay i'm joking. the mentors say occasionally people do stay till 4, 5am though. hmm.

that aside, i was assigned to the equity capital markets department. please do not ask me what that means 'cause i barely have any idea. the mentors in our dept brought the 4 of us interns out for a welcome lunch at some posh dim sum place where we ate and talked quite a bit. after lunch it was rather boring 'cause i had nothing much to do, and i was so sleepy i thought i'd nod off, until Mentor gave me work to do. one piece of work, which i took rather long to send back to him, 'cause embarrassingly i did not know how to Save a document on the desktop, and i didn't want to appear noob by asking others. but in the end i gave up insistently clicking on the same button hoping something different would magically appear, and had no choice but to ask the secretary beside me, who kindly informed me how to use a PC like a normal person. (dammit why can't they use Macs instead i'm a Mac-snob ohkay).

anyway, highlight of the day! woohoo. check this out people:

air-flown all the way from france! courtesy of gerry THANK YOU

all the yummy pictures i see of it on tumblr and i finally get to eat it! one day i'm gonna go eat it in the patisserie itself in paris.

I ATE HALF OF THESE AT ONE GO OMG I'M SUPPOSED TO CURB MY SWEET TOOTH SO I WON'T GET DIABETES shiett.

if i lived somewhere like france i'd so ride a vespa around 'cause it's so cute and i won't get stuck in traffic jams.

i have blisters on my foot and now i have to go iron my work clothes and sleep argh.
