Travelogue: sun sand sea (Bintan)

Digging for starfish. We were crazy excited when we found the first one, it was trying to hide itself by sinking like it was on quicksand; it was amazing watching it. A few seconds, and you can barely tell it was ever there. But later we realized that if you could spot the starfish signs on the sand the whole beach was actually studded with them, all hiding just beneath the surface, and we were probably just stepping all over them.

Pretty graffiti

I cleaned the sand from the starfish to see its patterns

Rocks exposed at low tide

Pretty trees

Favourite tree. It's literally bent at an angle of 45 degrees and I don't know how it seems to be defying gravity so well, especially when the wind is so strong day and night

The hippie and the tourist ♥

It was such a relaxing seaside trip. We got a free upgrade to a huge room with a perfect seaview and a balcony and the staff at the resort were all very friendly. And we practically had the whole beach to ourselves. Spent the afternoon walking all over the beach looking at the millions of hermit crabs littered all over the beach exposed at low-tide, catching small crabs, digging up starfish, staring at the sea creatures inhabiting shallow pools of water...and there were lots of stars for stargazing at night ♥ The huge king-sized bed was awesome and falling asleep to the sound of lapping waves was ♥. The open-air bathroom would have been good if it weren't for the insects...but I guess it couldn't be helped.

And we brought a grand total of 4 cameras there and I can't wait to see how the film ones turn out.

I almost feel ready for school.
