"If we wait until we're ready, we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives."
- Lemony Snicket
Read: why you should travel young
"Traveling will change you like little else can. It will put you in places that will force you to care for issues that are bigger than you. You will begin to understand that the world is both very large and very small. You will have a newfound respect for pain and suffering, having seen that two-thirds of humanity struggle to simply get a meal each day."

Miki of the day: just hangin' out under the dining table
Sometimes I wonder what she thinks about as she stares into space, as I so often do. What kind of cat thoughts does she have? Does she even think? She looks like she does. Is she happy? Or is she bored? Mummy says I should buy a leash and take her out for a walk. I'm not sure if she'd like that. She's such a timid cat after all. Maybe I should bring her out in her carrier. Some days it feels like I'm just an empty shell moving around in my daily life. I'm physically here but my heart and mind are miles away, somewhere. I hear and see things around me but I don't really process them, because I'm too busy thinking about everything and nothing. There's a certain vagueness about everything, like when the camera lens is out of focus, or when a myopic person takes off her glasses. thoughts flit around, meaningless, fleeting. I suspect if you really look into my brain you'll find it filled with cotton candy...
