Met up with JY and Tian to catch up over lunch! Because we were all feeling like the poor students that we are, we decided to go to the Clarke Quay area for lunch which, according to JY, has a lot of weekday lunchtime promos. So we went to this place called Vintry (next to Royal Selangor), which has a 5-course weekday lunch menu for $15 nett.
Vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and coffee
Err I only remembered to take photos of the food after we got to dessert and coffee -_- #failblogger But the 5 courses basically consist of salad, soup, main, dessert and coffee/tea. The salad, we agreed, was not very nice. JY didn't like the sour dressing (I think it was either vinaigrette or italian?), tian doesn't like veggies in general, and I didn't like the particular veggies they served. Soup of the day was tomato soup, and I kind of liked it. For main I had dory fish with wedges and broiled veggies, and it was not too bad. I liked the vanilla ice cream and coffee was nice as well.
The place was actually quite crowded at times, and it was mostly men who came in for a glass of wine. The place has a huge selection of wines, but we didn't try any 'cause we are poor students haha. We were seated in a corner, which gave us some privacy and we sat and chatted for the whole afternoon. The only problem was the waiter couldn't really see us so JY had to get up twice to call for the waiter. But the ambience was nice, and $15 nett for the set lunch was quite worth the money imo.

"This is awkward"
Clarke Quay at night
Yes Clarke Quay again, but this time for ladies' night with the law school girlfriends! It was such a fun night, we were so happy and gone and saying all sorts of ridiculous things haha.

Beer battered fish and chips
Jane brought me to dinner at this place called Shuffle. It's located on the second level in one of the shophouses. The fish and chips and criss-cut fries were really quite nice and filling. Ambience was not too bad too, there was a duo singing live, and they did english, chinese and canto songs.
Tang's "野猫咪" stockings and nails ;D

My hair looks awfully hobo in all the pics it's sad
Dress - I forgot the name of the shop, heeled oxfords - osaka
I actually removed the sleeves of the dress right before I left the house to meet jane for dinner. This is one of the dresses I decided to retain and alter. It had cap sleeves that (1) looked too princessy and (2) made my arms look fat. So I took them off and now it looks much better.
Jane and Tang's outfits; I have fashionable friends
We queued to get entry for Attica first, before going to check out Helipad 'cause Jane and I hadn't been there before. We went to the club first and I thought the drinks tasted pretty diluted. Music was okay but there were so many more guys than girls and they were just standing around looking at all the girls it was pretty intimidating to dance. The girls on the podium were doing their best though haha.
Went up to the bar and sat there to look at the scenery for a bit and left without ordering anything. The waiters were really nice about it. When we first went up they recommended that we go down for ladies night for free drinks. She told us that ladies get two free drinks each, but we actually got four coupons each idk why. Maybe 'cause we were pretty wtf haha.
Left Helipad after a while and decided to go to Shanghai Dolly. New favourite hangout hahaha. Other than the fact that they judge you for your looks/dressing and hand out the number of coupons accordingly, the place is really chill and more like a chinese pop concert than a club. Jane and I have actually been there thrice now (for the free drinks #cheapoclubber) it's mostly an older crowd I think we were probably the youngest there.
Free bucket of beer bottles
Right after we stepped in and ordered three beers at the bar counter, this middle-aged Indonesian guy offered to give us this bucket of beer. He told us that his friends had left and he didn't really drink, so we accepted it and right after the bartender came with his bill he left O_o
We spent the rest of the time there talking to a 40 y/o guy who looked 30 years old, and his friends. about proper stuff like the legal and engineering industries and other serious topics wtf. And Tang and I laughed our heads off at the people who climbed onto the stage to dance. In fact, we laughed at everything we were so happy -_- I always tend to forget, but beer and other alcohols do not mix. Remember that people.
After that we happily walked to Attica and Jane promptly ordered champagne and she met a guy friend who turned out to be our 贵人 of the night. I ordered champagne for him as well but it was too blatant for the bouncers so they requested that he leave the club ('cause guys are not supposed to leech the ladies' free drinks?). But we had EIGHT free drinks EACH and we were already quite high from drinking at Shanghai Dolly so we couldn't have finished it. And we didn't. In the end we left the club with her friend (who took care of us and paid for our bak chor mee and sent me home and refused to take my share of the cab fare) and tottered our way to eat bak chor mee. I don't actually recall our whole journey there, but I pretty much remember the whole night, and everyone thought I was pretty sober 'cause my acting skills are good, so all is good. It just takes mental concentration really. Never drink till you're knocked out, kiddos.
It started pouring very heavily and by the time I cabbed home it was like 6 and mummy was up and she was not very pleased. I spent the rest of the day lazing around the house feeling a little dazed. Fun night, but I think we should only do this once in a while...
MY OUTFIT LOOKS GROSS IN PHOTOS. crop me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
