spent a better part of the afternoon feeling all awkward and out of place at the central library at kent ridge and going around looking like some lost tourist as i tried to borrow some books, before ling came and we went for tea!
place we decided to check out after she brought it up
it's tucked away in a secluded corner in ngee ann city, away from the main shopping area. it's supposedly an eatery by the owners of marmalade pantry, the restaurant at ion. this place is more self-service though, and presumably the prices are cheaper 'cause there's no service charge.
pretty darling with her veri berri smoothie
and starring my new bag! the one i bought the other day. it doesn't look like it in the photo, but it is teal-coloured.
and the twilly ribbon is from hermes.
i love the wraps! you get to select the choice of filling and the choice of wrap. we got smoked salmon and smoked turkey, with wholemeal tortilla wraps. they were awesome. and it felt healthy eating them HAHA.
i made her go order the cakes.
ling: "why's one cake so messy and the other so neat?"
me: "that's like you and me"
okay, i'm not very neat either, tbh.
lemon meringue sponge cake.
i loved the outer part of the cake, which tastes like gooey roasted marshmallows. the sponge had lemon zest, and didn't taste too sweet so it complemented the sweet exterior pretty well.
chocolate truffle cake.
which was richly sweet. it got too rich after a while, especially if you'd a full meal and you're also eating another cake, so it'd be better to share it and eat it on its own. but as ling said, it lacks a nice biscuit base.
these days i look like i have really small eyes.
...okay who am i kidding, i've always had small eyes -__- and please ignore the stupid fork x fork combi.
after what, almost 3 hours of going around in h&m? darling and i came out with a big paper bag each of purchases (we will save the paper bags for you, kitty). i was almost embarrassed carrying a paper bag of david beckham around town, until i realised the whole street was full of people carrying david beckhams around -.-
random fact of the day: this was actually my first time purchasing from h&m singapore. and i actually never thought h&m had particularly nice stuff, although i've bought stuff from h&m japan and hong kong before. but their basics are actually quite nice and affordable.
sudden craving for something savoury. CHEEEESEE fries!
<3
LOOK AT THE GLOWING CHEEESE.
i was hoping my parents would be asleep by the time i got home. but no such luck; the living room lights were still on as i walked through the estate and looked up at the windows. so i was trying to figure out how to sneak the huge paper bag past them when i got home. came home and mum was seated on the couch engrossed with her handphone and i slithered past without her looking up (^-^)V but this morning as i was sleeping she came in to clean the room, so she probably saw the paper bag and the receipt inside anyway. ...i pretended to continue sleeping.
